Industrial Fashion
Inspiring a shift towards CONCEPT ECOLOGICAL FASHION choices within contemporary, public and private sector uniformed industries
In sub culture, fashion is our uniform. It is the human face of bands, social movements, militaries, in sports, public service, industry, tourism and hotel and we all belong to one or more faction—more so, a working uniform is often the first point of contact, and yet too often the FINAL consideration in ecological procurement.
After installing nearly 10,000 garments in London alone, it’s clear that while FEW decision makers are considerate, the majority remain cautious of expense and sources, unwisely content to treat uniforms as disposable assets. In our VAST experience, even at its most conceptual or avant-garde, research suggests it’s better to give a uniform cultural weight. What might have once been considered disposable is now a critical ecological act in its own right.
CEMENT CITY repositions fashion, including workwear and uniform as a site of cultural and ecological experimentation: garments that hold the weight of a contemporary brand — while aligning with sustainability goals. From decommissioned parachutes to recut linens and end-of-line pieces. CEMENT CITY transforms overlooked materials into uniforms that act as both identity and intervention. With the right pace and creative guidance, even the most functional garment can become an ecological statement—and a focal point in a captivating space, more installation than uniform. Learn more

Behind the Beats — Revisiting electronica tech, cultural and industrial icons
Since its release in 1979, the Technics SL1200, and SL1210 MK2 turntables have been pivotal in shaping club culture and the 90’s era of the Superstar DJ. These iconic decks became a technological force in dance, rave, and electronic music, allowing clubs to revolutionise the way music was played.
Outside of the club and music industry, this mass-made product remains largely unseen—unheralded technology that quietly defined an entire era. Using graffiti to distort value and status, what we achieved was a quiet retrospective brand installation re-contextualises the Technics turntables as installation art, positioned out of position, vertically at the intersection of technological and industrial design greats. This work was specifically commissioned for a large, diverse, international gallery exhibit—curated by Sheffield-based artist and gallery owner (Æ), Paul Morrison.
